Altenew Card Kit Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hey Guys!

Welcome to my stop on the Altenew, New Day Card Kit, Blog Hop!

I'm excited to share three cards I created using this gorgeous kit! Make sure you read about the giveaways and a fun promotion at the bottom of the post!

If you're following along the hop, you should've come from Joni Andaya's blog. Isn't she fabulous?!! If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, head over to the Altenew blog here.

All the products I used are listed at the bottom of the post, in the affiliate links.

There is a gorgeous paper pad included in the kit that I just HAD TO USE on my first two cards!

The blue/green background on my card below is designer paper. So pretty! I just stamped and white embossed some floral images from the stamp set that is included in the kit, added the sentiment and some enamel dots and it was done. Very easy and quick!

Yes, that gorgeous watercolor flower in the background of my next card is also designer paper! Isn't it beautiful?! I took the little butterfly and a sentiment, both from the same stamp set used above and stamped them in black ink. Then I just added a strip of black cardstock along the edge and I was finished. Another pretty card, which only took about 5 minutes to create!

For my last card, I wanted to play more with the flowers in the stamp set and try a technique I haven't used in ages!

I carefully added Candied Apple and Peeled Paint Distress Inks to the flower and stem areas of the stamp and spritzed it with water before stamping. After all the stamping was done, I spritzed the whole panel again with a bit more water and just let it flow. I love this artsy, watercolor look! And you know I love to color but with solid floral stamps, you don't have that option. So this is a fun technique to try with all those solid image stamps you have!

Now for some important announcements, including giveaways!

I haven't tried a galaxy yet, I am still a little initmidated by that look! And the cat is my favorite, even though I tend to not gravitate to the critters too much. I might need that one! Thanks so much for so much inspiration.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by for the hop - my gosh, you are all so sweet, kind and generous with with your comments! I appreciate and read every single one!

Okay, now onto my card for today.

Lesson 2 was all about stamping to create rainbows on our cards! I loved all the techniques again today and was so inspired by Jennifer's fun technique! She used hearts across her card and did not outline them in black, like I did. For some reason, I didn't like how my circles looked, so decided to use the coordinating outline circle.

Their not lined up perfect, and some of the stamping isn't great but I still love it! The stamp set I used is called, Lot's of Dots and that sentiment is from the, Missing You die set, both from SSS. I used Distress Oxide Inks again - they stamp beautifully!

I'm afraid I might be missing the next couple of lessons from class. I've got lots to do in the next two days to get ready for an Altenew blog hop on Friday - Eeeeek! I want to make anoher card or two and I still have to write my post! Yikes! Wish me luck that I get it all done in time! Lol

Thanks for the visit!

Hugs, ♥

Day One OCC Rainbow Maker!

Hi guys!

If you're looking for my Simon Says Stamp, Encouraging Words blog hop post, please click here.

I'm back today with a quick post. Are you taking the newest class from onlinecardclasses.com? It's called Rainbow Maker and if day one is any indication of how fun the class will be - well, it should be AWESOME!

I took a technique from Kristina Werner and used it on my card below. There were so many fabulous techniques and videos for lesson #1! I just wish there was more time in each day to try them all!

The products I used are listed at the bottom of this post, in the affiliate links.

I used only three Distress Oxide Ink colors to create the rainbow colors on my card - it's really cool how they blend so smoothly and seamlessly to create even more colors!

If you're still on the fence about the Distress Oxide Inks, I highly recommend buying just these three colors to start out! That way, it won't cost much and you can see if you like them before buying more.

The white embossed sentiment and leaves are from the SSS stamp set called, Look for the Miracles. I added a little shimmer spritz and some white enamel accents and it was done. So easy and such a fun technique and with fabulous, eye-catching resuts!

I'm heading over to see the lesson for day two and hope to be back soon with another card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs! ♥
